Jim Hudson is the President and co-founder of the Hudson-Alpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Hudson was the founder and former President of Research Genetics, Inc. Mr. Hudson founded Research Genetics in 1987 and developed it into one of the premier genomic reagent companies in the world before selling the company to Invitrogen, Inc. in February, 2000. Mr. Hudson has served as a founding board member for numerous biotechnology companies including Shearwater Polymers, Inc. (now NekTar, Inc.) and New Century Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Roy Nichols is the co-founder of Nichols Research Corporation, a public information technology company specializing in information solutions and services. Mr. Nichols served as president from 1976-1999 and under his leadership Nichols Research grew into a company that now generates approximately $400M per year in revenues. Mr. Nichols has over twenty years of experience working with companies and building experienced management teams.
Lonnie McMillian is the co-founder of ADTRAN, Inc., a leading global provider of networking and communications equipment. Mr. McMillian is currently serving as a board member and senior vice president of engineering at ADTRAN. Prior to ADTRAN, he was vice president of engineering and a director of Universal Data Systems. He also held similar positions with Motorola after its purchase of Universal Data Systems in 1979. Mr. McMillian's career also includes several management positions, including chief engineer with SCI Systems, Inc., an aerospace electronics manufacturing firm. In addition, Mr. McMillian helped found Systems Engineering Laboratories, Inc., a scientific computer manufacturing company, where he served as a director.
