As discussed in the Technology section of our website, AGI products are developed from our discovery pipeline that uses our 'Panels of Diversity', i.e. antibody sets that were created by translating insights from gene expression studies into antibody tools for classifying different types of cancer. We believe these antibody panels, which we update and improve regularly, detect the biologic diversity of cancer that accounts for much variation in both the natural history of tumors and the clinical course in response to therapeutic intervention. They are a fast and cost-effective discovery tools that allow us to use available paraffin embedded tumor material efficiently to identify biomarkers that can be used to address specific clinically important questions.
Ongoing projects at AGI involve the development of Panels of Diversity targeting tumors originating in other tissues types and discovery projects focused on identifying biomarkers of prognosis and chemotherapeutic response.
AGI has presented data related to its Panels of Diversity in head and neck and ovarian cancers. Please see the Head and Neck and Ovarian sections of the Publications section for details. AGI is also pursuing the development of a taxane sensitivity marker for a certain type of ovarian cancer (the same marker as our Mammotax product) as well as initial discovery studies for the same biomarker in lung cancer.
