Pulmostrat is a seven antibody immunohistochemistry test that requires a pathologist to first classify the tumor as an adenocarcinoma or that the tumor does not show signs of adenocarcinoma differentiation. AGI has developed another IHC product, Pulmotype to help pathologists make this histological diagnosis. Depending on this diagnosis, the reference laboratory performing the test will select either the adenocarcinoma or non-adenocarcinoma antibodies (four antibodies each) from the Pulmostrat test. The reference lab will use this pre-specified antibody subset to stain four standard sections from the available formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded lung cancer tissue. A trained pathologist will score for staining according to established criteria and assign a "0" or "1" staining value for each antibody corresponding to negative or positive staining respectively. These values will be entered into the AGI algorithm for Pulmostrat to calculate a "Risk Index." The Risk Index classifies the patient as low, moderate, or high risk of cancer recurrence.

Pulmostrat and Pulmotype results should be used in conjunction with other clinical information to help make informed decisions about treatment options.
